This is a case study of the benefits of a Home Energy Audit by CRIPrograms, conducted in conjunction with Connecticut Light & Power.

CL&P customer Veronica Crook, 81, sought a way to reduce her energy bills. Her two-story condominium includes 2 bedrooms and an attic, and is heated entirely by electricity. When she heard about free home energy audits underwritten by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, she jumped at the chance.

The home, while cool in the summer, was expensive and challenging to heat in winter. In order to discover inefficiencies and potential savings, CL&P put Ms. Crook in touch with Competitive Resources Inc. to schedule an audit.

CRI briefed Ms. Crook on the various steps in the audit, and the solutions to heat and electricity loss – weatherization, efficient use of hot water, energy-saving lightbulbs and more.

Ms. Crook was happy with the service and the savings that ensued; so much so, that she immediately recommended our program to her neighbor.
